PortfolioOver his career, Dwight Ozard has worked with an incredibly varied, and unique, group of organizations and clients. From developing media and special events to creating communications materials and products to crafting broad, organization-wide media strategies, he has been among the most creative and bold non-profit communicators at work today. He is also a leader in developing relationships between celebrities and entertainment industry leaders with non-profit charities and programs. In the Spring of 1999, while Director of Public Affairs for Habitat for Humanity International, Dwight pitched and coordinated a four-day Habitat feature on the Rosie O'Donnell Show during May "Sweeps" which featured Rosie O'Donnell, Martha Stewart, Norm ("This Old House")Abram, and Sally Jessey Raphael working side by side on a Habitat home with the homeowner. It was the largest coordinated daytime TV exposure in Habitat's history, rivaling even Oprah Winfrey's groundbreaking partnership with Habitat for the Angel Network. In May 1999, Dwight also coordinated a multi-day Habitat home building and Teen People magazine photo shoot with TV's "Buffy," Sarah Michelle Gellar and the WB television network. This led directly to the "WB Build" in the summer of 2000, when several WB stars spent a week with Teen People readers building a Habitat for Humanity Home in Long Beach California. In 1999 Dwight also worked began working closely with director/screenwriter Randall Wallace (Braveheart, We Were Soldiers, The Man in the Iron Mask) in the development of "Hollywood for Habitat for Humanity" (http://www.habitatlb.org/Blitz/), an ongoing movie-industry-driven homebuilding movement. Dwight has produced several multi-day conferences, seminar series and fundraising events. These include: Co-producer: Jimmy Carter Work Project 2000--Opening and Closing Ceremonies Two coordinated major special events at New York City's Avery Fisher Hall (the Lincoln Center) and in Americus, GA celebrating the work of Jimmy Carter with Habitat for Humanity. These events featured, among others, Julia Stiles, the Jayhawks, Anne Hampton Calloway, the cast of the Broadway hit "Swing", Sixpence None the Richer, Anointed, Plus One and Natalie Grant. Producer: Building Beyond the Bridge A city-wide concert/rally in Selma, AL celebrating a cooperative project home building initiative of black and white churches--the first of its kind in historic Selma. This event featured leading Christian musicians "the Ragamuffin Band," Natalie Grant, Plus One and Marvin Saap, as well as former congressman JC Watts. Convener: 20th Anniversary Celebrations of ESA/Chicago Declaration II A major three day event that drew nearly 1500 to downtown Chicago in November of 1993. From 1994-1998 Dwight organized PRISM magazine's widely heralded Cornerstone Festival Seminar Series, a teaching and concert series that became the most popular teaching event at the nation's second largest (and easily the coolest) Christian music festival. Since its inception in the spring of 2002, Dwight Ozard Consulting Services has worked closely with several ministries, nonprofits, businesses, governments and individuals across North America. Habitat for Humanity International (project-based) http://www.habitat.org HFHI (based in Americus, GA) is the world’s largest private builder of nonprofit, low-income housing. Dwight Ozard served them from 1998-2000 as Director of Public Affairs. DOCS work with HFHI has been varied, ranging from consulting with their Communications and Marketing/Brand Management team regarding Habitat’s ongoing and extensive cross-promotional relationships with the entertainment industry (a program Dwight helped create while serving them), to managing some editorial and creative writing projects, to serving as a consulting expert on religious communications issues.
Visionledd, Inc. http://www.visionledd.com Visionledd is a Canadian non-profit Christian ministry working in both Canada and in sub-Saharan Africa to educate, advocate, empower and equip individual Christians and local parishes (congregations) to be leaders in response to the HIV/AIDS pandemic. DOCS worked with Visionledd to develop an extensive, full organizational and administrative audit designed to serve as a foundation for a Board of Directors-driven forward plan. DOCS also worked with Visionledd to develop and begin to implement a comprehensive communications and fund-raising strategy, including the development of a wide-range of communications and fund-raising tools. DOCS has also worked with Visionledd staff, offering them ongoing communications counsel and mentoring.
World Vision Canada (project-based) http://www.worldvision.ca WVC is Canada’s largest NGO, managing relief and development projects in more than 90 countries. They are also a leader in bridging the gap between the broader Canadian culture and Christian activism. DOCS has worked with them on several issues, ranging from basic communications counsel, an audit of their current publications, and ongoing counsel, strategy and recruitment for their entertainment industry liaisons.

http://www.theOnecampaign.org Wayne Presbyterian Church http://www.waynepres.org WPC is a large, expanding church on Philadelphia’s mainline with a vibrant commitment to missions and service and progressive communications in the community. DOCS has helped to streamline and coordinate their missions communications tools as well as conducted a complete communications audit for the church as a whole. The Town of Markham (project-based) http://www.markham.ca Markham is a suburb of the Greater Toronto region, and considered among the most progressive municipalities in North America. DOCS has served their Corporate Communications office and assisted in the development of a mayoral-sponsored fundraising event.
Graham Kerr (project-based) http://www.grahamkerr.com Graham Kerr is television’s former “Galloping Gourmet,” a pioneer of the now hugely popular “food” TV genre. Without Graham, there is no Emeril, Bobby, Mario or two-thirds of the rest of those who fill the TV Food Network’s roster. DOCS is currently working with Graham developing several projects.
Chalice Press Chalice is the trade imprint of “The Christian Board of Publication,” the publishing arm of the “Disciples of Christ” denomination. DOCS worked on several projects for Chalice, including a widely released Advent Devotional, two books and several small editing projects.
Curb Records; Tooth and Nail Records; Word/Warner Brothers Records; Metro One Records; Tovah Recods; Atlantic Records, others…. DOCS has worked with various recording companies to develop creative marketing materials for their artists, as well as by assisting their younger artists with media training; DOCS has also been hired by individual artists/management teams to develop marketing materials and assist in imaging campaigns.
