:: Ozard to return "home" to preach ::

Just a quick reminder that I'll be preaching at my old stomping grounds of Metropolitan United Church in London, ON Canada on Sunday, July 10th.

Sermon title?

The One Who Comes Alongside

I was the first "youth minister" at the 165 year-old+ church back in 1989 (then the largest "mainline" church in Canada), and my three years there were some of the most memorable of my life. I was also the youngest person to preach from Met's venerable pulpit, one which was once considered among the most prestigious in all of Canada.

It's been 13 years there since I've been back to preach, and I can't wait--it means far more to me than I realized it could, especially in the context of Met's summer replacement preacher series, which, back in the day at least, was filled with the best preachers in Canada. Met clearly hasn't kept up those old standards (they invited me, after all), but its still cool to be in the wake of that old tradition.

There are two services on Sunday mornings at Met; I'll be speaking at both.

The 9:30 service is a "contemporary worship" service, and my good friend and occasional co-conspirator in ministry, Kevin Rogers, will be doing some of the music during that service.

The 11 am service is their "traditional" service, and I'll be joined by another Met alum, Rev. Francis Clark, who will be leading our prayers that morning.

I hope that you can join us.

For more information, check out
Met’s website.
OK, so they can look a little stuffy.
OK, so they are.
But God moves there too. Trust me.
I saw it, I know.

And it was very, very cool.

:: missing addresses ::

I lost a good chunk of addresses in the computer crash. If you think you may have been lost, send me an email and give me your contact info or "V-Card".

PLEASE!

:: Crash, Pow.... Where'd it go ::

Sorry you've heard nothing from me in a while--two weeks ago my trusty little notebook's hard drive crashed fatally--nothing was recoverable at all. We're hoping that the hard drive is indeed with Jesus....

But even a dead computer and a doctor who wants me to do things that frighten me can't keep me from at least a small amount of glee at the latest news of my counts (they're down!--and that's a good thing)...

It's not that long. Click the link and give a wicked laugh for the belligerent old lady bugging the judge.  more

:: New Update Finally Posted ::

Finally, I've posted a long new Journal Update, this one tracing not only my current (quite ambivalent) medical situation, but the extraordinary month that May was--for good and ill, and including my parents' 50th Anniversary Surprise Party.

Thanks for being patient, and thanks for asking, so faithfully, about us.  more
